A Korean delegation, headed by Lee Kyu-hyung, vice minister of foreign affairs and trade, and Ko Jae-young, deputy minister for environment policy of the Ministry of Environment, attended the OECD ministers'' conference on development and environment held in Paris on April 4.

About 30 environment and development-related ministers, including senior officials from the World Bank and United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), participated in the OECD meeting, a foreign ministry official said.

The conference is designed to discuss roles and ways OECD members, international organizations and civic society can alleviate poverty in developing countries and support sustainable development.

In particular, the Korean delegation plans to actively promote the achievements and plan of the "Seoul initiative for green growth," which was adopted at the U.N. Asia-Pacific environment and development ministers'' meeting held in March last year.
