MOE ranks the top three years in a row in the Government Agency Evaluation

The Ministry of Environment took the first place in the Annual Government Agency Evaluation, organized by the Prime Minister's Office. The Ministry now marks the record of being awarded for three years in a row, for its best practice among other 22 central government agencies. The criteria for the evaluation included administration capacity, policy development, and civil satisfaction, each marked to account for the final rank.
* MOE took first place in the evaluation on administration capacity (50%), second in policy development (35%) and civil satisfaction (15%).

In the area of policy development, MOE was highly regarded for its development of land mark policy measures including the Special Act on Seoul Metropolitan Air Quality Improvement, Extended Producers Responsibility System, and concrete preparation for the implementation of Total Pollution Load Management System based on the Special Act on Four Major Rivers. Furthermore, the Ministry was recognized for its completion of Map of Environmental Status, enforcement of rules to protect natural environment like the Great Baekdu Mt. Range, and sound facilitation in the field environmental technology.

In the area of administration capacity, MOE's action and goal oriented organization structuring was proved effective as it ranked in the top. The Ministry achieved transparency by disclosing online administrative documents signed by the Minister, Vice Minister, and Directors-General, and was recognized for its advanced civil service system enabled by IT integration.

Furthermore, leaping from last year's rank, MOE marked second place in the area of civil satisfaction for its effective civil services like complaint handling, timely respondence, and service manners.
