Korea Resources Recovery & Reutilization Cooperation (KORECO) announced that it will re-launch its "Aid for Recycling Industry Programme" from January 2004. The corporation already marked great success through this project during 1999-2002, in which the aided corporations boosted productivities through cost reduction and production automation, while 16 of them acquired intellectual properties in the field of recycling. The corporation's aid project aims at assisting mid and small size recycling businesses by having the experts provide on-site technical lessons on an inquiry basis. More concretely, the cooperation has developed the expert pool in response to the increasing demand for assistance.

Once selected for the aid, the company is to be provided with necessary assistance in 6 years. In this, the KORECO is to cover 85% of the assistance costs. Per-aid financial support reaches the maximum of 15 million won (US$ 1200), and any recycling corporation producing goods using recyclables are eligible to apply for the aid.
