
▷ Presidential Water Commission to hold 5th Regular Seminar (2025) on November 11
The Presidential Water Commission (chaired by Prime Minister Kim Minseok) will hold the “2025 5th Regular Seminar” on the theme of “Improving the Integrated Water Management System” on the afternoon of November 11 at the President Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.
This event has been organized to bring together experts from relevant ministries and related academic societies to discuss ways to revitalize basin-level governance and advance the water management system, with the goal of delivering integrated water management outcomes that the public can truly experience.
At the event, policy directions will be shared through three thematic presentations: (1) proposed changes to the National Water Management Master Plan, (2) measures to improve the basin-based integrated water management system, and (3) research directions for integrated water management based on virtual reality (digital twins). In addition, an in-depth discussion will be held on advancing water management centered on basin-level governance to enhance the practical outcomes of integrated water management.
Gong Dong-su, Chair of the Planning Sub-Commission of the Presidential Water Commission, stated, “Basin-level governance is the foundation of water democracy and a critical element of integrated water management.” He added, “I hope this event will strengthen cooperation between the central government and local communities in water management and serve as an opportunity to advance Korea’s water management system to the next level.”
