The Inauguration ceremony of a new Minister of Environment was held in conference room on Ministry of Environment, in Kwachon Government Complex on 29th June 2005.

The new Minister of Environment, Jae Yong LEE was born in Sang –ju, Kyoung-buk, in 1954. He showed his environmental competence by engaging in Korean Federation for Environmental Movement for 4 years and now president Roh has appointed him to be Minister of Environment.

As claimed by Won-Gi KIM, the head of personal secretary, the new Minister has not only participated in Korean Federation for Environmental Movement to prove his high qualified environmental background but he has also showed his achievement by working as Mayor of Nam-gu District, Daegu Metropolitan City. With varied and extensive experiences, the new Minister of Environment has great leadership capacity

Minister Lee will guide the Ministry of environment to a brighter future of a clean environment and sustainable development.
