The ‘Children’s Environmental Exhibition Center’ has opened in Pangyo, Kyeonggy province for the first time in Korea.

The ‘Korea Metal Can Recycling Association’ opened the ‘Canny Village’, a PR center of can-recycling, with a lot of 4950㎡ and a building lot of 1881㎡, on May 4th.

The Canny Village is an exposition center with the subject of packaging metal cans to educate the importance of resource recycling. It finds its uniqueness in all displaying facilities that are placed low considering the height of pre-school and elementary school students.

The center provides useful and fun live education through various ways by theme – learning how to recycle and why recycling is necessary; studying with lively graphics; and recognizing why we have to recycle resources and protect the environment.

It also arouses children’s curiosity by adopting state-of-the-art technologies in facilities such as magic vision, and is equipped with about 500 environmental books in the children’s environment library to help children do homework with their parents.

The Canny Village, opened right before the Children’s day (May 5th), is expected to serve as a significant place for environmental education where children learn the importance of resource recycling from the early ages.

The ‘Korea Metal Can Recycling Association’ that runs the Canny Village was established in 1994 for collecting and recycling cans and approximately 400 enterprises including POSCO and Lotte Chilsung are members of the association.
