Minister Han Wha-jin: "Actively Supporting Green Innovative Companies Leading Global Economy Beyond Environmental Problem Solving"

▷ Voices from the Field at Meeting Held with CES Award-Winning Green Innovative Companies


The Ministry of Environment (Minister Han Wha-jin) announced that Minister Han Wha-jin will hold a meeting with environmental industry professionals who received innovation awards at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES)* 2024. The meeting is scheduled to take place on February 15 at Conference House Dalgaebi in Jung-gu, Seoul.

*Organized by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the world's largest electronics trade show is held annually in Las Vegas, around January. In 2024, more than 4,000 companies from around the world participated.


This meeting has been arranged to hear from small and medium-sized environmental companies that have received innovation awards for their outstanding technological capabilities in the environmental sector at the 'International Consumer Electronics Show 2024.' The purpose is to listen to the individual award-winning companies' remarks, and to encourage and acknowledge their efforts in the field.

These companies showcased their products developed through various methods such as the invention of new materials and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology at this exhibition. Through their awards, their innovations have gained global recognition.


During the meeting on that day, Minister Han Wha-jin, along with the Chairman of the Korea Environmental Industry Association (Park Gyeong-il, CEO of SK ECO Plant), and representatives from each company, is expected to discuss a multifaceted approach to policy support for fostering green industries. Additionally, there are plans to actively listen to the voices from the field to address the challenges faced by small and medium-sized environmental companies in the market and enhance their global competitiveness.



Minister Han Wha-jin stated, "Green industries growing based on green technology have become a driving force not only for solving environmental issues but also for leading economic growth." She added, "In the future, the Ministry of Environment will actively support many companies in developing and commercializing innovative green technologies."
