In reaction to the terror attacks happening frequently worldwide, the Ministry of Environment conducted an inspection control for the safety regulations in the toxic chemical treatment facilities, to protect the nation from the release and misuse of the toxic chemical substances.

The inspection was conducted by the Ministry of Environment in cooperation with the local governments, the National Institute of Environmental Research, and other relevant facilities, against 88 businesses inside 9 major industrial complexes. As a result, 7 businesses were charged for violation of the Toxic Chemicals Control Act, and other 28 businesses with minor violations were taken under administrative measures.

Lack of measures for managing the toxic chemical instillation processes and comprehensive standards for toxic chemicals control and their equipments and facilities were pointed out as insufficiencies in the measures which need improvement later on in the revision process.
