The first Korean-made hybrid car \"Click\" starts operation on November 8, 2004. Four hybrid-powered vehicles were delivered to the Ministry of Environment, Gwacheon Government Complex on the 8th, followed by a trial ride ceremony. Manufactured by Hyundai Motor Co., the hybrid-powered Click features 40~50% greater fuel efficiency and 30% reduced emission exhaust compared to the gasoline-powered model.

At the ceremony with the officials of MOE, the president of Hyundai Motor Co., and press gathering, Minister KWAK stated, “Low-emission vehicles like these hybrid-powered cars featuring a greater fuel efficiency and reduced emission exhaust will lead the world’s car market in the future … our efforts will be consistently exerted to enhance a wider supply of low emission vehicles through measures such as financial assistance and tax-related incentives.”

The Ministry plans to provide budgetary assistance of 28 million Korean won in supplying hybrid cars to the Korean National Police Agency, Metropolitan Governments, NGOs, the Ministry of Transportation and Construction, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
